CNUE - Transfer of powers to Mr Vogel for the year 2019

CNUE - Transfer of powers to Mr Vogel for the year 2019

Pierre-Luc Vogel, Honorary President of the French Conseil Supérieur du Notariat, was elected on 6 December 2018 President of the Council of Notariats of the European Union (CNUE) for the year 2019.

The transfer of powers ceremony took place on 16 January 2019 in Paris.

"With a view to Brexit and the European elections, he intends to highlight the specific features of the notarial function to his European contacts. To this end, the CNUE intends to make concrete proposals for the elections, first by examining European legislation that directly concerns notarial activity, and then by proposing ways of improving it. At the same time, CNUE will be directly involved in the campaign by encouraging European notaries to take part in the elections.

In terms of technology, Mr Vogel will work to pool the resources deployed by each notariat. Storage, data exchange with public registers, deployment of e-signature, the electronic authentic instrument: all these are projects and achievements in which each notariat should be able to benefit from the experience of others.

Another significant announcement is the intention to publish for the first time this year a barometer of house prices in several major European cities. Work has already begun in this regard with several notariats.

Finally, in the autumn, a major exhibition will be organised at the European Parliament in Brussels. The exhibition will bring to the public’s attention notarial acts of significant historical value, as well as technological developments in the CNUE member notariats. The objective will be to demonstrate to the new MEPs both the very old roots of the profession and its modernity."
