UINL signs a Memorandum of Understanding with UNICEF

14/04/2021

In 2021, the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the International Union of Notaries (UINL) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for the development of joint projects and activities for children protection will be materialized.

This MoU was signed by the authorities of UNICEF and UINL on 1 December 2020.

It endorses the consolidation of the general collaboration between these two institutions, and more particularly the participation of UINL and its 89 Member Notariats, in the program of fundraising for UNICEF through legacy.

Indeed, as part of their function as support to people in the execution of their patrimonial wills, notaries can assist citizens who wish to make a legacy to UNICEF to draw up their will consistently.

Furthermore, the information that notaries can provide to their users concerning the possibility of supporting UNICEF through a legacy is part of the social function of notaries in the service of the most vulnerable.

The implementation of joint activities is planned not only within the framework of the "Legacy" Program, but also regarding the civil status of children and more generally the protection of children.
