On February 14, 2020, the opening ceremony of the 2020-2022 Legislature and the formal inauguration of the President, Notary Dr. Cristina N. ARMELLA, took place in the Colegio de Escribanos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

The ceremony began with the words of the President of the Consejo Federal del Notariado Argentino (Federal Council of Argentine Notaries), Notary Ignacio SALVUCCI and of the UINL past President, Notary José MARQUEÑO DE LLANO. 

President ARMELLA, in her opening speech, underlined the key points of her government plan.

The use of new technologies at the service of notaries is one of them. "New technologies are not going to replace us, they are going to help us", said the President. It has thus been possible to follow the formal act from all over the world thanks to a live session on YouTube, both in Spanish and in French.

President ARMELLA confirmed the launch of a virtual training platform at the global level. 

Finally, she recalled that respect for diversity and equality among members is part of her fundamental principles and that she will continue with UINL's policy of support to international organizations and governments, along the lines of previous legislatures: "we are here to collaborate", the President reiterated. 

"The Union represents us, protects us and is the necessary vehicle so that this Notariat, already consolidated in the world, continues to be strengthened, continues to have a presence, continues to generate the service it provides to all our communities", concluded the President. 

Officials from the national and local governments, from the executive, legislative and judicial branches of Argentina as well as from the diplomatic service attended the event.
