04/12/2018

The European Commission (EC) and the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) jointly organize a conference on "Cross-border protection of vulnerable adults".

The conference takes place on the premises of the European Commission in Brussels from Wednesday 5 to Friday 7 December 2018.
The purpose of this conference is to bring together notaries, legal practitioners, judges, health and social welfare experts, academics and civil servants working in the field of adult protection in Europe and around the world to exchange ideas and information about the Hague Convention of 13 January 2000 on the International Protection of Adults.
The general objective is to promote the implementation of the 2000 Convention on Adults and to identify different ways to complement and strengthen the operation of the Convention and increase the protection of vulnerable adults in Europe and worldwide.
The International Union of Notaries (UINL) will contribute, through its President José Marqueño de Llano and the President of its Human Rights Commission, Almudena Castro-Girona Martínez, to Panel II regarding the “Need for an International and Regional Legal Framework for the Transboundary Protection of Vulnerable Adults - The Perspective of Organizations Providing Services and / or Protection".
