News Joint Meeting of the General Council and the Assembly of the UINL Member Notariats
30/11/2020 The joint meeting of the General Council and the General Meeting of the UINL Member Notariats was held on Friday, November 27 through videoconference.
The Presidents and General Councillors of the 89 Member Notariats were informed about the intense activity of the organisation in 2020: institutional meetings, virtual visits, conferences and training courses, surveys and questionnaires, etc.
The theme of actuality led the participants to consider the notarial function in a digital context, in times of pandemic but also post-pandemic.
The various projects in progress were recalled by their respective persons in charge.
A global point was established on the cooperation activities with the Notariats that are not yet members of the UINL, such as Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan. The Notariats of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi were also officially granted the observer status at the UINL African Affairs Commission.
In addition, UINL's many collaborations with international and regional organizations were highlighted, in particular the collaboration on the drafting of a technical guide with the United Nations agency FAO, the participation in the World Bank's Legal Week and the selection for the European project "Legal Competency preventing AML/CFT".
Finally, it was the occasion to officially launch the global virtual educational platform. This state-of-the-art tool, imagined by President Cristina N. Armella and whose Global Director is José Manuel García Collantes, is available in 3 languages (French-English-Spanish), 24/24 and 7/7 all over the world. It provides educational material (text, video, audio) in various areas of the law and notarial activity.
The next meetings of the General Council and the General Meeting of the UINL Member Notariats will be held in the summer and autumn of 2021 respectively.
