The European Affairs Commission (CAE) of UINL met on 26 and 27 November in Barcelona, in a mixed format (virtual and in person).

Hosted by the President of the Spanish Notariat, José Ángel Martínez Sanchiz, and the Dean of the College of Notaries of Catalonia, José Alberto Marín, the European councilors chaired by their President Franco Salerno discussed study topics such as divorce, powers of attorney, successions and mediation.

During these meetings, the President of the UINL, Cristina N. Armella, and the President of the CNUE, Adam TOTH, spoke about the activities of the Notariat in Europe and internationally.

Also, the Vice-President for Europe and President of the Working Group "Partnership with International Organizations", Lionel GALLIEZ, and the President of the Commission for International Notarial Cooperation (CCNI), Richard Bock, presented their actions.

Then the Deputy Counsel of the International Court of Arbitration, Amanda Jiménez Pintón, presented, as a special guest, the activity of this leading international organisation to the assembly.

The European Notarial Academy, a training event twinned with the Commission meetings, studied the adaptation of the 2006 UN Convention on Persons with Disabilities in European countries.

The Spanish Notariat, which is very involved in this subject, presented the recent Spanish legislative reform in this area.
