Apply to participate in the World Notariat University 2021!

20/04/2021

The World Notariat University "Jean-Paul Decorps" will be organized online for 2021!

Indeed, as Covid-19 pandemic issues are still prevailing, this new edition will be held, as in 2020, in a virtual way, through videos and remote exchanges.

The University will begin with an opening webinar on Monday, July 5, 2021 and end with a closing webinar in October 2021 (date to be confirmed).
Exchanges during the in-between period will be conducted between students and teachers via email, video and workshops in videoconference.

World Notariat University “Jean-Paul Decorps”

The World Notariat University "Jean-Paul Decorps" is an academic training offered by the UINL in Spanish, French and English.
It intends to enable the understanding and application of the concepts of comparative law and international law through the exchange of good notarial practices.

This new virtual edition is a great opportunity for candidate notaries, trainees or young notaries (<35 years old or with less than five years of professional experience) to follow an international training without having to travel.

In addition, the work of the University will be presented at the UINL Triennial International Congress which should be held in 2022 in Mexico.

Theme of study

The training cycle is organized around a transversal theme set for the duration of the legislature (2020-2022): "The notary, a protagonist for legal security in civil Law: Protection of the citizen - Protection of society"
This theme is addressed through four modules, each headed by a teacher: family (Not. Dra. Cristina Armella, UINL President), Person (Pr. Christine Morin), Estate (Pr. Luc Weyts), Successions (Pr. Michel Grimaldi).

The University 2021 will focus on the following sub-theme: "The notarial function and the notarial authentic instrument in a digital context".

Selection of candidates

The selection of candidates is established by each Member Notariat.

Each Notariat is entitled to have a minimum of 2 students participate. However, it is possible for Notariats that wish to do so to submit more applications, with an order of priority and, as much as possible, a diversity of languages spoken by the candidates (English/Spanish/French). Indeed, once the registration period is closed, UINL may increase the number of participants admitted per country depending on the total number of applications received.

The application (registration form, letter of application and curriculum vitae) must be submitted and authorized by the Chamber, College or National Council of each Notariat by June 4, 2021 the latest.

The fees are 300.00 USD or 250.00 Euros per participant.
This includes online training by teachers (webinars and workshops), platforms for exchanges between students and access to all the University's documents, in text and video format.
