2020 Publication - Powers of Attorney: Essential Conditions for the Validity of Notarised Powers of Attorney in 33 European countries

30/12/2020

The "Powers of Attorney" study is part of the European Affairs Commission-CAE of the International Union of Notaries (UINL) series of scientific studies.

This study was born to respond to a need arising from the international context, where the mobility of people very frequently leads notaries to use proxies established abroad or to issue proxies to be used abroad. In each of our legal systems, the validity of an authentic act may depend on the validity of the power of attorney established to receive it. Each notary must be able to ensure the validity of a power of attorney.

The CAE wanted to help to meet this real and urgent need in the notarial practice. The result is a varied and detailed picture of how the matters in question are regulated in each European country.

EDITION 2020 Price: 30 €, pp 190
