ITALIAN NOTARIAL COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE

The latest Country Review Report on the compliance of the Italian national system with the provisions of the Convention against corruption for the 2016-2021 five-year period was published on the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) website at the end of last year. The report shows that Italy meets the anti-corruption and anti-money laundering requirements.

Italian Notaries and the National Council of Notaries are expressly mentioned for their role in securing legal transactions and preventing money laundering by control of suspect activities.

For the first time, notaries were officially included among the key institutions for the fight against corruption and money laundering.

The report also highlights how the Notariat contributes, through the progressive digitization, to the simplification of procedures, thus improving the standards of transparency and the effectiveness of preventive actions.
