International Land Coalition (ILC) : 2030 Strategy

International Land Coalition (ILC) : 2030 Strategy

- ILC press release -

During the 2021 Virtual Assembly of Members, on the 17th of November 2021, members of the Coalition adopted a new Strategy for the period 2022-2030.

Our new strategy will focus on three major shifts :

Shifting power back to people:
    •    Systems change is about shifting power. This strategy aims to do so by challenging the perpetuation of inequality through ILC’s ten commitments to people-centred land governance - but also by putting the people’s organisations at the core of ILC initiatives. Only by putting the power into the hands of people whose lives depend on land can we achieve inclusive and sustainable development that “leaves no one behind.”

Shifting attention to land rights:
    •    ILC will unblock lack of progress to the Sustainable Development Goals land indicators in focus countries because land rights are essential to achieving 13 of the goals, 59 targets and 65 indicators.

Shifting focus on data-driven advocacy for accountability:
    •    Because what doesn’t get measured, doesn’t get done, ILC will support its members to gather people’s data on land governance and use it to monitor and hold governments accountable.

About ILC
