Free online training opportunity in the context of the EU Justice Programme

03/06/2020

“EULawInEN”  is a EU project consisting in blended and integrated content together with language training for European notaries and judges.

“The general objective of the project is to contribute to the effective and coherent application of EU civil law by covering training needs' gaps.
The more specific objective instead is to develop cross-border training activities and tools for legal practitioners and trainers from different countries to capacitate them in EU law in English as to replicate the training methodology in other EU countries.”

The EU law online training in English language is part of this project which expected results are to train EU notaries and judges in EU law in English in order for them to be better prepared for the application of the EU regulations in the exercise of their function.

The project has been implemented under the coordination of the Fondazione Italiana del Notariato. The European Commission – EU Justice Programme 2014-2020 is co-financing the training. Further partners include the Cassa Nazionale del Notariato, the International Association of Judges, and the Notary Chambers of Bulgaria and Hungary.

The program includes a 20 hours e-learning course, 3 sit-coms, and an e-learning serious game addressing the European Regulations on Succession, Registered Partnerships and Matrimonial Property Regimes (EU Reg. 650/2012; 1103/2016 and 1104/2016).

All the e-learning products are in English language in order to promote the language learning through the study of the legislative texts, adopting the “Content and Language Integrated Learning” (C.L.I.L.) methodology.

It gathers 18 video-lessons, complemented by slides, a bibliography, a glossary of EU legal terms in English and a final test.

The sit-coms and the e-learning serious game address practical cases that notaries and judges are faced with in their daily practice. They require the interaction of the players, actively involved in solving the cases applying the above EU Regulations.

The full training is available for free on the European MOOC Platform "EMMA”
