AML/CFT LIGHT project is calling for expression of interest from notaries from Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy and Spain before 24 October 2021

14/10/2021

The consortium of the project LIGHT - six partners including the UINL, led by the Italian association Confprofessioni - calls for the expression of interest of notaries from Belgium, Bulagria, Italy and Spain to participate in the training activities organized in the framework of the Project LIGHT.

The LIGHT project aims at increasing the competency of lawyers and notaries in anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT), therefore strengthening their role in the implementation of AML/CFT and ensuring the effectiveness of AML/CFT policy. The selected lawyers and notaries will have enhanced their functional competency in AML/CFT through four main competence profiles, which will let training participants:

  • Acquire experimental insight and knowledge in EU Law on AML/CFT;
  • Improve their capacity in ML/FT risk assessment;
  • Perform AML/CFT reporting obligations;
  • Analyse business relationships without intermediates as required by the Commission.

Only 30 notaries from each country will be selected.

The selected notaries will be granted to participate in the training activities (online and face-to-face seminars) organized in the framework of the project.
Participation in any activity is free of charge and travel and subsistence costs incurred by the participation in order to join the seminars may be reimbursed upon submission of adequate documentation and compliance with cost eligibility criteria.

The selection will be based on the following criteria:

  • Eligibility of the application (that is, compliance with the provisions set out in this call)
  • Notaries from Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain
  • Knowledge of English
  • Experience in the field of AML/CFT

A final test is planned at the end of the online trainings. Its succesful completion is a condition to join the face-to-face seminars.

The deadline for applications is 24 October 2021.
